Beautiful and bountiful Raleigh, North Carolina, located in Wake County, consistently ranks as one of the best places in which to live, work and raise a family in the United States. In May 2005, Forbes.com rated Raleigh-Durham number two in its Best Places For Business And Careers. Data collected by the Census Bureau's American Community Survey shows Raleigh as the third most educated U.S. city with 49.7 percent of 25-and-over Raleigh adults having a bachelor's degree or higher.  CNN Money stated that Raleigh, N.C., with its amalgam of great research universities and high-tech companies, tied San Francisco for second place for holders of bachelor's degrees and was seventh for advanced degrees, with 16.7 percent of residents holding one. Wake County, flanked on one side by the Atlantic Coast's sandy beaches and the other side by the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, is home to approximately 560,000 residents.   Raleigh, the largest of 12 municipalities making up the Triangle metropolitan area in Wake County with almost 300,000 residents, is rich in community spirit and friendly atmosphere. Raleigh residents boast of a world-class economic vitality, further boosted by a 1959 State of North Carolina initiative which carved out the now world renowned Research Triangle Park just west of the city. The Greater Raleigh area enjoys a skilled work force, educational opportunity, environmental quality and community quality-of-life.
